Four steps. No shortcuts.
The installation process is exactly what separates a job that lasts twenty years from one that bubbles by spring.
The wall has to earn the paper.
Prep is where most installers cut corners — and where every seam failure starts. We skim-coat low spots, sand ridges to within a hair of flat, seal porous drywall with a diluted sizing coat, and let the whole surface cure before a single strip is cut.
A properly prepared wall extends your installation's life by 10–15 years. We've never left a job with bubbling seams. That's not luck.

The seam you never find.
Every pattern has a repeat — straight match, half-drop, or random — and every repeat determines how much paper we order and where every cut begins. We lay the full run dry on the floor before paste touches anything, confirming alignment from baseboard to ceiling across all panels.
With a 21-inch half-drop botanical, we're offsetting 10.5 inches per strip. We account for every inch before we hang the first panel.

Paste, pressure, patience.
We mix adhesive to the paper's spec — heavy-bodied for grasscloth, starch-based for delicate hand-prints, synthetic for commercial vinyl. Each strip books for exactly the time the manufacturer recommends. We use a smoothing brush, not a plastic squeegee, because bristles find air pockets that plastic misses.
The paste is wet but not soaked. The paper is relaxed but not stretched. There's a 90-second window where everything is exactly right. We work in that window.

The room breathes differently now.
We move the furniture back, collect every scrap, and walk the walls with a raking light before we consider the job done. If a seam catches the light wrong, we address it before we leave — not after a callback. You shouldn't have to think about the walls again.
Interior designers who've used us once typically put us on retainer. Property flippers tell us a papered accent wall consistently adds $4–7K to offer prices in their markets.

Three ways to work with us.
Every package includes prep, installation, and a final walk-through. Paper sourcing is separate — we can recommend suppliers or work with what you've already ordered.
